Choir
St Catharine’s College lies in the historic centre of Cambridge. Founded in 1473, there has been a choir associated with the college for over a hundred years. The mixed student choir is drawn principally from the college’s undergraduate and graduate cohort and maintains a weekly round of services in the college’s 18th century chapel, as well as giving regular concerts, broadcasting and recording. In the past decade, the choir has released a number of ground- breaking recordings, championing the best in contemporary British choral music as well as little-known Renaissance repertoire; and has participated in several BBC Radio broadcasts. St Catharine’s also boasts a children’s girls’ choir – the first of its kind in an Oxbridge college.
